Brisbane Computer Recyclers has been trading since 2004. In 2007 PC Disposals was formed as a seperate company from the retail side. Both companies are PTY LTD registered. Unfortunately in Australia there is no rebate scheme available as the goverments, local and federal are reluctant to give any rewards/ rebates or money towards old equipment that is disposed of responsibly. We are recycling aproximately 25,000 to 30,000 kgs per month of mixed computing as part of our own self funded initiative to recycle. We do not recieve any funding what so ever from government at any level. I have campained for years to recieve grants so we can at least pass on something to small to large business who do the right thing and recycle rather than dump their old IT. We appologise for any charges that we must claim, but this is to cover our time/ Labour etc to make sure it will be disposed of responsibly. Many people ask what happens to the many computers and monitors that we receive, the computers and monitors are sorted at my warehouse in Rocklea for testing and cleaning. The working 17" monitors will be exported back to china or the phillipines and given to those who cannot afford computers. All non working monitors are taken apart and shipped back to the manafactures in China and Korea for reclemation. It is a long process but it is rewarding to know what we are doing will make a cleaner envoirnment for us now and for the future generations.
